(2,809 posts)Amazon should have paid NY for the privilege of being jammed into a city already full to the brim. They would be close to millions of their shoppers along with international ports and multiple top tier airports.
I'm thinking that alone would save them tons of money in the long run. I won't even get into the fact they don't pay any freaking tax, what's a travesty that shit is. The fact they got 3 billion in concessions is ridiculous.

(4,030 posts)A politician has a moral responsibility to serve all those that dwell in his or her district and not just what they consider their base. I don't hesitate to call Republicans out for not doing this, and I would be a hypocrite if I gave the Democrats a free pass

2. Not demanding enough givebacks/contributions to address City needs (notably housing and tranpsortation)
3. Not having the political clout to sell the deal to the Albany.

(1,693 posts)I remember heads were exploding cause Kentucky offered Toyota tons of incentives and tax breaks to build a factory here. Well after all that's said and done, the state is getting it all back due to the new middle class it created in central Kentucky.

(12,660 posts)All tax breaks and few good jobs. Amazon should pay New York to build here. We like making a living wage in the Northeast.
