Make Trump go all or nothing with his national emergency scam.
Why give him 1.6 billion if he thinks he doesn't need Congress anyway?

We need to vote for the compromise to keep government open.
He's already lost when he signs it.

(46,228 posts)He goes ahead with his declaration. And the government is shut down. People don't get tax refunds. Air controllers get overworked. People just barely recovering from the last shutdown are back to standing in line for a free meal from Jose Andres.
And for what? For the government to be shut down until Trump reverses his emergency declaration? If the courts rule against him, he'll keep fighting it. And if the courts rule for him, then what? Leave the government shut down?
One of the least well-thought out suggestions I've seen here in quite some time.
Fortunately, Nancy, Chuck and the Democratic caucus are thoughtful adults.
