I'd been struggling to figure out how they could nail Stone if Trump pardoned him.

They've got Manafort with his financial crimes.

NY Daily News:Alex Jones, Roger Stone hit shooting range to prepare for civil war they say would break out if Trump is removed

Roger is one sick phuck. He belongs behind bars after a lifetime of dirty tricks and crime.

You don't get to where he is, have the undying admiration and respect that he has from his peers and staff, and be able to maintain that spotless reputation for decades, without being brilliant.

No evidence in this tweet that state charges are pending, but I’m still glad that legal experts think it’s possible based on how things are playing out

That gets them in for talking. After what Stone did today, he will be lucky if he is not in jail by the end of the week. Watch to see if he adds charges on. At some point he will refer charges to a state court. Which will be pardon proof. If trump does pardon him for federal crimes, Stone can be forced to testify. He can not take the 5th because of the pardon, no worries about incriminating himself. if I were Stone I would stay away from windows.

Wikileaks already had the information from the Russians when Stone reached out. Regular news outlets were reporting on these emails as fast as they could. My understanding was that Stone was possibly getting advance notice of what was coming out when. He then lied about it to Congress, saying he couldn't get any info.

I'm thinking the aiding and abetting is a bit of a reach, but it couldn't happen to a nicer guy than Roger Stone.

NY still has that crazy double jeopardy law on the books...so Trump could pardon anyone for federal crimes they haven't even been charged with, and NY law wouldn't allow them to be charged.

a 2nd degree offense there is a presumption of imprisonment, even for a 1st offender. Consider it on the same level as some aggravated assaults with serious bodily injury, some Sex assaults and theft of more than $75,000. Computer hacking is a very serious offense.
