My brand new HP desktop has been flashing the Blue Screen of Death (due to memory management issues)and rebooting without warning several times a day. At the worst possible moments.
Right after I posted a comment, I thought it was getting ready to go big blue on me again, so I closed my browser and shut down the machine.

47. It could have been a DOS attack and the DU servers are setup well

to thwart it rather than crashing. If you do it right all it does is slow things down for a while. There are other less sinister possibilities.
