They need to live with the consequences.

Either that or Scotland and Northern Ireland, neither of which voted for Brexit, should secede from Great Britian.

Of course, I don't live in any part of GB, so perhaps I misunderstand what is actually going on.

But that wouldn't be particularly surprising considering just how confused the situation is.

You have the pro-brexit folks that want a better deal.
You have the pro-brexit folks that don't care about a deal.
You have the anti-brexit folks that don't want a deal.
You have the anti-brexit folks that want a better deal.
You have the anti-brexit folks that want a new vote.

You have the politicians that didn't support it doing all the negotiating.
You have the politicians that did support it saying that the negotiations should be easy.
You have the people that originally pushed this all suddenly not saying much at all.

Other than that, it's clear as mud.

What I do recall quite well is that when the voters realized they really had voted for Brexit, a lot of them wanted a do-over. They basically said, "The only reason we voted for Brexit was that we thought it wouldn't pass." Dumb.

compared with 65% for a similar question in 1975, and 42% for adopting the Alternative Vote system in 2011.

2017 general election turnout: 69%
2015: 66%
2010: 65%
2005: 61%
2001: 59%
1997: 71%

But the government and Labour chose to treat it as binding.

Vote Leave broke electoral law.

According to the UK Supreme Court, if it had been a legally binding referendum, the result would be invalid. Because it was only advisory, the result stands.

not to mention the efforts of paid Russian trolls. A majority in recent polls now back "remain"; it's surely sensible for there to be a vote on the terms of departure if it's to happen.

The EU is NOT going to renegotiate,.

It's as if a family has 6 kids..and the 6 kids vote to burn the garage down, and Mom & Dad just go along because the majority has voted...or discuss endlessly as they light torches..

C'mon UK..get a grip. It's a dumb idea... just say no!!
