I'm glad you posted this, IluvPitties.
I have often read things here I didn't like, didn't agree with or felt had crossed a line -- for me. But we are not cookie cutters. We do not think the same, see things in the same light or process ideas in the same manner. We have all had our different life's experiences, which color how we perceive the world around us. I respect the opinions people have posted here, as everyone has the right to their point of view, even if I don't agree with them.
I have never reported anyone to the DU word police as I don't think it's my place to judge. Some times someone's rant can be provocative, educational and a learning experience.
That said, two nights ago, I posted something here. Short, only eight words long, and five of them were in the subject line. I used no foul language, attacked no one here and wrote a phrase I have used here dozens of times. Someone took offense and complained. I got slapped by the DU word police and my post was deleted. Although a reason was given, it made absolutely NO SENSE and did not begin to describe what I had posted.
Thank you to whoever leaped to some bizarre judgement and sought to see me sanctioned. I have no idea what your issue was with my post and sadly, instead of engaging me and explaining why I had crossed some line with you, you asked the DU overlords to swat me. You missed your opportunity to educate me about something that had bothered you and now I have learned nothing from the experience.
Whoever you are, we both lost on this one.
