Could Ivanka really be this out of touch?

Ivanka Trump challenges Ocasio-Cortez platform, says Americans don't want 'guaranteed minimum'

Ivanka Trump, President Trump’s daughter and a White House senior adviser, lauded her father’s economy and said the majority of Americans ideologically believe differently than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in an interview with Fox News host Steve Hilton.

“You’ve got people who will see that offer from the Democrats, from the progressive Democrats, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: ‘Here’s the Green New Deal, here’s the guarantee of a job,’ and think, ‘yeah, that’s what I want, it’s that simple.’ What do you say to those people?” Hilton asked Ivanka Trump in the interview set to air in full on Sunday.

“I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around this country over the last 4 years. People want to work for what they get,” Trump told Hilton. “So, I think that this idea of a guaranteed minimum is not something most people want. They want the ability to be able to secure a job. They want the ability to live in a country where’s there’s the potential for upward mobility.”

Sorry about the source, but its the only place I saw this report.

How does someone who has lived an affluent life where everything has been given to her think that she can speak for low income workers?

She is no different from her father , and shows nothing but contempt for our Democracy. Just like her still manufacturing most of her products in sweat shops around the world. She's just another corrupt lying criminal working for enemy dictators rather than the American people, like her Dad is doing. She's said nothing about them kidnapping thousands of immigrant children to intentionally lose them and abuse these children hurting them and their parents for life, and says nothing to stop it. She's just another trump fraud.

I really do love these types of statements because they perfectly illustrate the hypocrisy of the wealthy. Demanding a living wage is somehow "not working for what they get" even though the primary beneficiaries of a living wage have worked harder than Ivanka ever has in her entire life. I'm not sure how someone who was raised with servants and house staff can actually claim to understand anything about "most Americans"

Does Ivanka believe that potential ability exists for every American citizen, or is she fine with the wealthy and connected getting more than their share?

Access to better education with legacy scholarships and financial donations if not otherwise qualified, buying experience with unpaid internships, having family and/or friends chip in millions of start up money for a business, amazingly getting patents/trademarks approved in other countries after your Daddy visits them as President??

What does Ivanka "think" about those issues? Does she even have the capacity to think?

Besides. Only in a republican mind, is someone given cash to live, and they do Bad Things with it. This, of course, is just more projection.
RICH people do dirty things with money, poor people use it to eat.

She doesn't know this, because she's never been poor. She's not evil necessarily..but it's like asking a 12 year old to drive...could probably figure it out given enough time, but zero expierence with the thing on the front end.

I'm trying to be generous here, people. It could be I'm wrong and she's just spiteful and evil and doesn't want her taxes raised (that she's not gonna pay, anyway).

That's quite evident by Ivanka's standard lines of Libertarian dogma which is not representative of most American's views.

American's want to secure a living wage, not just a job. We also want basic healthcare, a loss of work safety net, support for the sick and disabled, worker protections, the best free public schools in the world, a clean environment - and we're willing to pay for those through taxes. We notice she did not mention any of those things.

In other words, shut the hell up, Ivanka.....

Feb 2019

How exactly did she earn that? She was given a fortune and then complains about others wanting to be given something? The total hypocrisy of those who are allowed to inherit their relative's wealth. They are like royalty complaining about those lazy serfs and peasants.

But notice she never answered the question. "Here’s the Green New Deal, here’s the guarantee of a job,’ and think, ‘yeah, that’s what I want, it’s that simple.’ What do you say to those people?”

The question was NOT about being given something it was about a guaranteed JOB. A job has to be worked. Unlike this little princess who knows nothing about working a real job, most people don't get to sit on their surgically enhanced butts when they get a job. Those jobs are NOT free money like she got when she was born. Those jobs have to be worked satisfactorily and a boss of some kind has to approve of what they do. It's not the end all and be all just to be given a f*cking crappy job. You still have to work. Work, labor is a concept lazy rich white people want you to forget. Because they make their wealth off of NOT paying you for what you are worth. They want the profits from your labor. No One in a capitalistic economy is paid what they are worth.

So she successfully turned the discussion away from providing jobs to all citizens to giving away free stuff. But isn't that the implied guarantee in capitalism? We let you rich bastards keep the profits from our labor but you have to give everyone a job? True they don't pay for the true value of that labor but they should at least have enough labor to go around. But they don't and they are so much more rich for it and you are so much more poor for it.

She says that "most Americans" don't want to be "given something." That implies, of course, that some do. Trumpites truly believe that it's the mission of evil Democrats to give away white Americans' hard earned dollars to lazy people (minorities) who don't want to work. It's white privilege and overt racism in a tidy nutshell, and sums up the most Republican of mottos: "I've got mine. Fuck you."

Well, her dad claimed he could talk for low income workers and many in the media seemed to have bought his talking point. Ivanka Trump is a young woman who has never had to compete in the real world. She went from college into her dad's company. After getting into her dad's company she was able to get multiple promotions. She has never had to struggle to get a job, or provide clothes and food for herself and her children. She has never had to figure out how to pay off student debt. However, at the same she seems to be a classic example of born on third base, thinks she hit a home run. She made the quip about Americans not wanting "to be given something" without seeming to notice that she was given just about everything she has in her life.
