Republicans will be remembered as a corrupt cult, or cabal, for betraying America and also the teachings of Christ that they claim to follow.

3. Use it to understand the approval rating cannot drop

There are frequent posts around here claiming Trump will drop to 30 or 35% approval. Can't happen. Anyone who knows a Republican right now will understand they will merely dismiss this testimony as nothing...just a liar lying again.

Without a 24/7 propaganda outlet, i.e. Hannity and Company, the GOP would be nowhere.

They would have done the same. Republicans put party before country.

When it comes to candidates/leaders, democrats fall in love. Republicans fall in line.

Where he wants to have absolute power to do anything he pleases without any consequences, ever. If he's given the power to falsely claim an emergency , it'll quickly be used to have that type of power, and without any possible chance he would be indicted, which is wrong also. Just think he could claim the next election is a national emergency for a made up reason, and do for hmself anything he wants to remain in office, like putin has done too.

It's not loyalty, it's the obedience of authoritarian-minded people. If you're a slave at heart, a master will always find you.

16. His approval rating demonstrates that he has a cult following. It's a straight line.

If you look (via 538) at Trump's approval rating compared with that of his predecessors through their first 2+ years, Trump's approval rating has been incredibly steady. It's basically a straight line. Cult45 is real. It doesn't matter what he says or does.

As for the Republicans in Congress, they have various motivations for standing by Trump, though they all have to do with self-preservation. Being critical of Trump will get you primaried. And if you're beholden to Russian oligarchs or just major Republican donors in general, you defend the brand.

It's called a "Cult of Personality".

Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Kim IL Sung all engaged in it.
