I've been worried about the viability of witnesses now that the (R)epuglicons have lost their grip on the House.
I'm not a deep-state conspiracist (whatever that means now) but I do think there are agents within and without government that might not view bright sunlight as a positive for their dealings. Perhaps, after Hoover/Dulles/North/Nixon things have been a bit better controlled, but I doubt perfectly.
