Trump Is Freaking Because Adam Schiff Is Investigating Him For Russian Money Laundering

Trump Is Freaking Because Adam Schiff Is Investigating Him For Russian Money Laundering

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) revealed that he is investigating Trump Russian money laundering, which explains why the president is freaking out.

Schiff said on CBS’s Face The Nation, “We are certainly looking deep into the set of issues surrounding Moscow Trump Tower. We’re also looking at persistent allegations that the Russians have been laundering money through the Trump Organization. I don’t know if that’s true, but if it is again, it’s a profound compromise of this president.”

Adam Schiff Has Jurisdiction to Look At Trump’s Finances Because He May Be Compromised By Russia

Trump’s rant about Schiff at CPAC takes on a whole different context when reviewed after what Rep. Schiff said on Sunday.

At CPAC Trump said, “I saw little shifty Schiff yesterday. It’s the first time he went into a meeting and he said we’re going to look into his finances. I said where did that come from? He always talked about Russia, collusion with Russia, the collusion delusion. Now we have people that lost and unfortunately, you put the wrong people in a couple of positions. And they leave people for a long time that shouldn’t be there. And all of a sudden, they’re trying to take you out with bullshit, okay?”

Trump doesn’t want investigators to follow the money, because the heart of his relationship with Russia is cold hard cash. There has long been speculation that Trump got the money for his projects by laundering cash in violation of US sanctions for Russia.

Adam Schiff has the jurisdiction to investigate Trump’s finances because he is probing to see if Trump has been compromised by a foreign power. Rep. Schiff knows where to look, and he is about to expose the potential financial crimes that Trump committed with Russia.

Here is one review: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2018/aug/20/house-of-trump-house-of-putin-by-craig-unger-review

The closing paras of that review:

Expecting any author to come up with the definitive story on Trump and Russia at this stage is therefore unrealistic. This is a highly competent collation of what we already know. But that only serves as a reminder of just how numerous and troubling those links are.

My main problem with the book is the subtitle’s promise to deliver the “untold story” of Trump and Putin. Given the non-disclosure agreement I had to sign to see the text for review, and the leaks of the book’s “bombshell” revelations to tabloid newspapers, it now feels like an exaggeration worthy of Trump himself.

deserves a little more credit, and less dismissal, imo.

It covers a lot of ground, and, it also goes deeper in areas. The footnotes are extensive and show depth.

A specific interest of mine is trump and Jones Day giant law firm and lobbyist arm - and having JD lawyers right on WH staff [over a dozen at one point - [all presumably granted no conflict worries courtesey of trump]. Unger book lists JD clients by name and industry [which I noted in a DU post]. JD footnote dated April 2018 - that is diligent. [disclosure; oh, well, I did not check out the cite]

Thank you again for your followup reply. It helps.

It may be him, not Special Counsel Robert Mueller that finally brings down this mis-administration.

Let's look at a couple of IQ45's recent denials:

"Now we have people that lost and unfortunately, you put the wrong people in a couple of positions."
What are you talking about here? I thought you were the "hire only the best" guy. How well do you think they are feeling today after you've said this about your own "outstanding" staff and cabinet?

"And they leave people for a long time that shouldn’t be there. And all of a sudden, they’re trying to take you out with bullshit, okay?”
Excuse me, did you just swear? Is it just Democrats that aren't allowed to do that? And besides, just who is it that has been there for a long time that shouldn't be there? Is it you?

Keep talking, Dumbo - you're making the work of so many so much easier...

to open its books.

Both of these have been major ways for the russkis and others to transfer huge sums of money without oversight. Wilbur Ross (supposed Commerce Sec. for dump) was on the BoD for Cyprus. Guessing that little gnome got some of his trolling money from assisting transfers.

While we all anticipate some big name administration and perhaps other gov't functionaries being caught in the net, it would seem likely that much of Big Corp and especially their C-suite execs will be gill-netted.

Can the US justice system, including the SCOTUS, handle this level of corruption? The pecuniary payoffs (bribes and threats) will be intense.

there's circumstantial evidence to suggest russians have been using limbaugh and talk radio since at least 2008, palin, tea party, 'climategate', debt default, benghazi propaganda, and so on.

and why wouldn't trump have offered to pay his friend and neighbor limbaugh? he's been a total supporter.

getting rid of trump will go alot easier if rw talk radio is exposed as a russian tool first - otherwise they're all going to be calling for civil war

There's about a 95% chance that the FBI had already retrieved Trumpy's tax records well before Comey was fired. Comey knew, just like any investigator, that he should follow the money. So the FIRST thing he'd set out to do is gather up Trumpy's tax records. You can't follow the money without them.

I just have to wonder what's taking this long? If they've uncovered some international criminal conspiracy to take over governments around the world I can understand. But how far along is this going to go before it's too late? We'll always have criminals but they're more organized than ever now.

Back when the USSR collapsed and that profligate liar reagan and the rest of the gop liars tried to take credit for its collapse, I often wondered what these supposed victors were doing to mitigate the effects of their handiwork but they did nothing because they had nothing to do with any of it.

If they were so powerful and clever enough to bring down the USSR why did they allow it to devolve into an autocratic international crime syndicate?

The only constant you can rely on from the gop is the lie.
