Not recognizing a madman, and voting for him, is a mistake

But sticking by him, after everyone in the world knows he's an insane, dangerous man, who doesn't give a shit about anyone else on the planet, makes that voter a mindless, clueless fool.

The fact that there's even a question about him being reelected is mind boggling. It's like asking "Could Jack the Ripper be reelected?"

But here we are. This is America of the 21st Century. A clown who hugs a flag and then gives a rambling, senseless, lie filled, two hour speech, or stream of consciousness, to the cult called CPAC, is considered a "Great Leader" by about 1/3 of the voters in this country.

Can it get more fucked up than this? Beats me. This is not the America most of us have known.

And then there's this. If he's reelected, (possibly/probably through theft), it should terrify every sane person in the world.

mental deficiencies and dysfunctions, we really should take the opportunity of observing obvious dysfunction in the WH and among the electorate so that we can believe it's real and understand it when we see it.

We need to learn more about all the types of mental disorder that can present in candidates so we can do a better job every 2 years. Also about what goes on in our heads, voter behavior, that we would elect people like this.

Here's a little intro to one big classification of disorder: personality disorders. Many experts claim Trump suffers from a cluster B type, some say he does not. But if he doesn't, his "traits of" are so strong that he's only a hairbreadth technicality away from formal diagnosis even for those who deny.

Just a tiiiny clue to the future they plan:

They're actually advancing very nicely with the assistance of Trump, who's about as religious as our cat but is packing the courts and government reliably with people off their lists. However they managed THAT. Probably threatening to turn the religious right against him, but they could be holding something else over him also.

12. I have never subscribed to the theory that Pence would be worse than Trump

for the simple reason that Pence is NOT the cult leader. I doubt he can command the loyalty and adoration that Trump does. Yeah, he's a shit of the first water, but I don't think he would be re-elected in '20 were he to ascend to the higher office.

hard-core opposition to Democrats as mere cultism. A far more dangerous word I'd use would be authoritarianism, which has a much larger following. But even that doesn't range wide enough.

Almost all of today's conservatives, including those repelled by Trump, would support Pence for the same reasons -- the right's political ideology has degraded to little more than acting as attack dogs to oppose and destroy whatever they're told is liberal. They will support their leaders, regardless of who they are, because that's what they do. But Pence would probably come across as a welcome return to sanity -- until they saw what was also behind Door #3 in 2016.

Plus, and this may be far bigger, the religious right would be far happier with Pence, who is a religious extremist committed to "restoring" a religious basis for the founding of our nation and to our system of laws. They're already all over DC, in everything, directing almost everything.

But, if that's not enough (scary as hell, I hope), another huge one is that Pence is a choice of the Koch alliance and other klepto-billionaires. He's been their man for a very long time, and they will work with the religious right and white nationalists to create whatever cult following they need him to have.

If it came to it. He's likely to have spent 6 intensely disciplined years playing a Nancy Reagan acolyte to a man he loathes for nothing. (But I confess I'm hoping "nothing" comes after a stretch in a federal penitentiary. Just how much separation has he been able to maintain?)

4. Ya Think?

I never found Trump 'funny' or entertaining. From the moment he rode down that escalator and spewed his nonsense I knew he was divisive and dangerous as most populists turn out to be. The Trumpster's role is to sow discord and chaos, so much that we won't notice him stealing everything he can get his tiny hands on.

Is he nuts?

I think he's a corrupt, narcissistic blowhard who's probably on something, as in an amphetamine concoction that's made him unable to think clearly or even behave appropriately. In fact, there's been some recent attention to the Trumpster's weird dilated eye phenomena that would underscore the suspicion. Whatever's wrong with the man is irrelevant because he's an absolute disaster in the WH. And frankly, anyone supporting him at this point is also whacked, driven by incredible rage and hatred of their own country and fellow citizens.

And yes, it appears that a third of the country would burn the place down before booting the worst President in American history.

... unnecessarily complicated. If you voted for him in 2016, you’re either a fool or an asshole. If you still support him, you’re clearly an asshole. It’s that simple.

14. Let's not forget that he's always been white America's boy

And giving him the benefit of the doubt, in spite of his unfitness for office, has always been an expression of white privilege. Hence, we’re all dealing with the aftermath of a post-Obama white-last by white America.

Frankly, having Trump run the country is a prime example of how self-destructive white supremacy actually is. Those who support Trump as an expression of white supremacy would rather we’d die all than risk identifying with someone who isn’t white.

The key to defeating Trump has always been out-organizing and out-voting a huge chunk of angry white America. We just have to stop self-destructing on the left first. Our power is in our own numbers, we simply have to use that power to win.

My suggestion is that all of us support the candidate whom black women would vote for. But asking Democrats to show that kind of solidarity has always been like herding cats, hasn’t it?

That they support him, knowing he's probably a criminal, a con man, a mobster-type, who has harmed the country, our democracy, damaged our relationships with our allies while elevating the status of murderous dictators. After children were caged. CAGED.

It is mind boggling. The only thing I can guess is that they hate the opposition more than they love their country and individuals, or they are willing to put up with anything as long as they get more money in their pockets.

Everybody knew who he was when they voted for him.

No, they didn't.

But, they are willing to accept it after they find out.
