Short Of Releasing Trump's Taxes.....

I'm thinking all we'd need from the IRS is a statement saying that Trump's taxes are not under audit.

I thought I heard Michael Cohen say that Trump was not under audit.

If that is true - this is a clear lie that Trump can be caught in - right from the start of his primary campaign.

Even his base could understand that.

So if the IRS issued a statement to that point I think it would put Trump in a world of hurt for saying that he didn't release his taxes cause he was under audit.

That was back in 2016. This is 2019. Is it conceivable that a person could be under audit for that long of a time?

that when he asked Trump how he should answer questions about his tax returns, Trump said not to talk about them because some "think tank" will get hold of them and I'll be audited.

Which pretty clearly says he is not being audited and wasn't in 2016. His base doesn't care.

he can't release his taxes because he was being audited. His base won't believe Cohen - because Trump and the Repugs have labeled Cohen as a liar.

We know who the liar is ...... Trump.

If the IRS issues a statement that Trump is or hasn't been under audit - many in his base will get the message that Trump is the liar. It will be evident of what he told them all the way back to 2016.

He's been proven a liar ten million times, including hush money to a porn star, and they just don't care. Trump's supporters care about one thing and one thing only: sticking it to the "elite" which apparently is you and me.
