Couple films their experience taking a "Bus Hotel" from L.A. to S.F. Interesting. A bullet train would be better.

(4,516 posts)I live in Santa Maria which used to be called Center City, half way between the two cities.
I would rather drive than fly or any other means of transport.

(36,631 posts)Combine the ideas of Canada's electric bus fleets with those crazy Australian road trains and make an electric, luxury people hauler that doesn't need rails.

(151,544 posts)I'd just drive. Six hours is a typical time for that trip in a car, if you avoid rush hour traffic times. More if you stop along the way to eat or whatever. If I had a business meeting, I might fly, but airport time, and transit time from SFO to downtown are issues. It's almost a wash, really.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
