Lower middle class from New Mexico. First and only person in my immediate family to earn a degree.

You were saying?

It was a huge culture shock to me.

But we weren't ALL spoiled.

I remember at football games, if we were losing, the chant was:

That's alright,
That's okay,
You're gonna work for us some day.

Just that I'd heard it.

(When I was a high school kid in L.A., I lived closer to USC than to UCLA. I had a library card to USC. I applied to both and got accepted to both. But UCLA had a better program for what I thought at the time I wanted to do).

And I say this as a Bruin. USC is a very good and prestigious school. My sister went there for graduate school and she is very smart and has used her education to both help people, and make a good living.

Even as a Bruin, I have no ill will toward USC. My sister likes to try to ignite the rivalry as she is WAY more die hard than I am. I like to irritate her by not playing along.

No one is supposed to really take them seriously. My school abhorred NC State, Duke and Wake! I could not believe Wake was one of the schools the cheaters tried to get in.

Military does the same thing. The Hollywood marines vs. the Swamp Marines. And the other branches are of course, most inferior!

It does have the white bubble reputation even though they do have minority students etc.

Stanford's masters courses are also known as 'the best education money can buy'

The OC is likely the Trojans largest alumni base. As with everything else it isn’t all or nothing but if someone tells me they went to SC and many do, I watch them closely.

The most unethical business associate I have ever worked
with is a Trojan. Some of the most entitled, selfish coworkers and peers are Trojans. In fact I can’t think of any school that had more than one. With Trojans is seems to be 50/50.

So they do have an issue with attracting some major assholes. The asshole Repubs and repub wannabes. Selfish to the core.

And that bullshit taunt about you will be working for us is incorrect the few
that get a position or business from the family yes. The others I have witnessed start off
with a better job after school but then get passed in 10 to 15 years. They may lie like tRump when the tailgate and they drive BMWs and Mercedes, but the ones I know report to people who graduated from Cal State schools or other State schools

And I’m not a Bruin. And can’t think of an asshole Bruin I’ve worked with or
Fullerton or Long Beach or SDSU or Cal.
