Lately, she's more of a PR agent.

Her prancing and preening around the cameras and microphones about the courthouse during the Bill Cosby trial, as if she had any actual role in the proceeding, was off-putting to actual lawyers.

She now owes Trump $300K on account of the way he screwed up her case. Yes, she's off the hook for the damages for breaching the NDA, but that probably wasn't enforceable anyhow. Maybe she should consider suing him for malpractice, although she might not collect anything on account of his bankruptcy and maybe the possibility that his liability insurer will dump him, which will happen if he loses his license - and that's a possibility because it appears that he's been paying business and personal debts from his attorney trust accounts. The guy's a total sleaze and I will always wonder what people were smoking who thought this grifter should run for president.

5. "on account of his bankruptcy"

There's a whole 'nother mess there.

Before the Central District of California he stipulated to appointment of a receiver over Eagan Avenatti and associated businesses, to forestall a probing investigation into the financial shenanigans which his former partner dug up, and about which I posted some material on DU.

HOWEVER, the day before a scheduled hearing in that district court case, and notwithstanding the appointment of the receiver, on Friday of last week he filed for bankruptcy in order to get an automatic stay of the district court proceedings.

It's flat-out bankruptcy fraud, and both his former partner and the receiver have filed for an emergency hearing tomorrow to dismiss the bankruptcy proceeding.

I'll run down the links to the relevant docs and post an update later when I have some time.

I was speculating that he could lose his law license. It looks like he could wind up in even deeper shit than that.

Asked whether Avenatti’s apparent legal troubles and recent bankruptcy played a role in his client breakup with Daniels, Brewster said, “I’ll simply say this. In addition to reviewing the legal matters that are pending, we would expect a full accounting and disclosure with regard to the representation of Stormy. That’s another issue we’ll deal with. I’m not, at this point in time, able or informed sufficiently to form opinions on that.

Isn't that amazing? A competent professional who is aware of the need to research the relevant facts and law before spouting bullshit.

I think people got caught up on someone "hitting back" and didn't realize that while hitting back can be good, you shouldn't just suspend rational thought and deify the person hitting back at a perceived enemy. Same thing happened with Steve Schmidt. People were super quick to think that Schmidt was the "most courageous and best person" until he showed his core by supporting a wealthy fool in running for president because he was a "centrist".

IF you think he's a total sleaze, look at what's in the White House.

A FULL MAJORITY of the GOP STILL support that racist, anti-Semitic, uber, uber, uber-sleazy, habitually lying, insane, sexually-assaulting traitor in the White House--With a HUGE assist from the corporate media and his buddies the ruskies (And don't look now, but maybe the Chinese/Chinese voting machines), may find himself BACK in the White House. Avenatti was/is vetted MORE by the corporate media than tRaitor tRump was/is.

seem to be that you have no recent felony convictions and can dress yourself. The fact that the GOP managed to elect a right scumbag doesn't mean that the Dems should tolerate one.
