In 1972, he created the role of Count von Count, who is perhaps his best-known character. Another well-known character who Nelson performed was Big Bird's best friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus.

was Mr. Snuffleupagus and how she was kind of disappointed when everyone else on the show met him. She like the idea of him being a secret friend for Big Bird.
