Will you be voting more for Obama or mainly against Romney?

I will be voting against Romney and the republicans, not really for Obama as in excitement or enthusiasm for him...To be honest, he has been pretty disappointing as president, speaking as an emphatic liberal. Not going to start listing all the problems I have with certain policies, but suffice it to say he is no progressive champion.

How about you? Are you really excited about an Obama second term, and are voting for him with enthusiasm, or is it more of a case of stopping the republicans from getting in and ruining the country again?

the raison d'etre of much of the left involves never accepting things as they are, but working to improve them. This is hard to balance. Especially when there is so much misery on this earth. The idea that any President is the sole answer is just ridiculous. By definition , the President is President of ALL the people. That includes a lot of folks to the right of the far left. But you definitely want a guy there who is sympathetic to your cause, and able to push things left.

Anybody voting merely against Romney maybe doesn't really see a difference. That is one of the reasons why somebody as idiotic as Romney even stands a chance of getting to the White House.

It is the same fucking logic that gave us the fucking tea bag take over of the US House of Representatives.

Oh dear!!! Both parties are just the same! Oh Dear! I don't know who to vote for. I think I'll stay home.

Well, if you think that way, you're going to get what the fucking idiots want.

I don't know if you've done this. But I get sick and tired of this, "I don't like Obama, but..." rhetoric here.

That was the Dem choice, and it wasn't that close.

And I too thought he handled his first term not too well. But he was the president, not me, and not you. He made the decisions he made because of the Congressional environment he inherited. He paid for that apparent miscue in 2010, I think.

But regardless, he is our candidate and we need to support him. He has learned a lot in four years. His second term will undoubtedly be more aggressive, as he will no longer have to consider reelection.

These reasons, as well that I both like him and trust him, are why I fully support the guy. After a lifetime involved in politics, I don't expect perfection in these matters.

You play the hand you're dealt. If you don't like it, that's too bad. You still have to play the damned thing. How can anybody be anything but FOR Obama?

I intend to vote for President Obama. There is no doubt in my mind that I will vote for him. Are the reasons that important? Would he not accept my vote if it were a vote against Romney instead of for Obama? I doubt it.

Why I intend to vote the way I do is very simple. It's for the good of the country.

In short, if you’re still disappointed in Barack Obama, it’s only because you never understood whose job it was to produce change in the first place. But don’t take out your own failings in this regard on the rest of us... Tim Wise

I am smart enough and pragmatic enough to be 100% behind President Obama!

The man who will do the least damage... Since neither is truly interested in the little people. That be Obama...so you could say I am voting against Romney.

I am as cynical as they come, and until a few things change...we are the least of their priorities. First needed change, Benjamin's need to leave that realm.

No question. Although I like him as a person, Obama is still only the lesser of two evils.

My only complaint is Afghanistan. I want out of there sooner than later. The "we'll be out after we train their troops" excuse is too Bush-like for me. I think the Afghanis are smart enough to train themselves.

I don't like Democrats who are pro-Gitmo, pro-Patriot Act, pro-NDAA/Drone, and are not anti-war. I wanted a primary challenge, too bad no one had any balls.

I've heard there are a lot of liberals out there angry at Obama. I am not one of them. In a perfect world, we would have single payer health care, we would be completely out of Iraq and Afghanistan, the bank regulation would have been much, much tougher, etc. But considering that the republicans have had an agenda from the very beginning to set Obama up for complete failure I don't think he has done too bad. And even though I am a liberal I also see the need for compromise. The problem of course is that the republicans never compromise on anything so when we compromise we end up looking like we have no spine. So, do we live in a perfect world? Do we get everything we want? no. But I am pretty happy with what he has done, and would much rather see him back in office than the man who wants to decimate our social programs and give more tax breaks to the wealthy. I am voting for Obama. My husband who is an independent by the way is also voting for Obama.

Having become politically aware during the Great Society, I've seen what Democrats can accomplish when they set their minds to it. Today's Democratic Party does not impress me as the party of the Great Society, but the Republican Party is way, way off the deep end.
