Here's a tweet storm from Seth Abramson that explains things pretty clearly: the media is getting the whole thing wrong.

(THREAD) BREAKING NEWS: Mueller has sent a report to DOJ that DOJ is representing is "comprehensive" and will shortly be publicly summarized. A lot of the reporting surrounding this major event is *wrong*so I'll try to report things accurately. I hope you'll read on and retweet.

(18,579 posts)This is exactly what I ws thinking. Trump took all his Attorneys with him to Mar alego today
Why would he need all of them if he was in the clear?
Also they are saying evidence will not be revealed and other reports are coming.

(90,021 posts)because they somehow, inexplicably, couldnt find it in their hearts or minds to vote for Hillary. Even if they voted for President Obama twice. So they decided to take a chance on trump (???????). I will NEVER be able to find it in MY heart or mind to forgive those people. Or they stayed home because they were loyal to Bernie. Or they voted for Fucking Jill Fucking Stein. I will NEVER forgive that. Not EVER.

(60,320 posts)... though tweet threads are inherently bogus as a medium. Stuff like that should be written on a page and posted at a site.
However, we are stuck with Twitter in this interim period of adjustment to developing technology. It is still early days in the internet.

(60,320 posts)Having to break up a reasoned argument or well-written essay into chunks that size is bogus regardless of the medium. If the chunks were printed on strips of paper and handed to you one by one, it would be no more and no less bogus.

(1,977 posts)Cery very few people still go directly to a site to check for news. it boggles my mind as someone trying to make a name in news gathering But I have talked with a few advisors and they agree for certain types of entities it makes sense toleverage social media as your main outlet.

(2,831 posts)It may very well include a long list of items for which the Special Counsel believes the President should be impeached on.
If there is strong evidence of criminality, then Mueller may go straight for the head of the snake.
Either way, we can expect Mueller and his team to be invited to Capitol Hill in an effort to make sure that Barr isn't doing the cover job that everyone expected him to do when he was appointed by Trump.

27/ And "new indictments" in *any* of those spheres may not be prosecuted by Mueller himselfbut they will be the product of his work and the fact that his investigation has unleashed a snowstorm of legal hurt upon Donald Trump the likes of which no president has previously seen.

(15,772 posts)I have a faint hope I am wrong, and I am not sure if Mueller still calls himself a Republican.
LiberalLovinLug
(14,689 posts)As a Republican he may (think he has to) weigh the National security if he actually makes a case against more than a few red shirts to fall on their swords.
That as a Republican he will not be able to stomach going down as the architect of the modern day Republican party, if he goes for the throat. Cuts off the head of the snake. As well he could use the excuse that he has to stem any violence that may erupt, ironically started by the very diehards that still would support Trump even if he were a convicted criminal. Go figure
There may even be a few of the more conservative Democrats that don't want that kind of instability it would cause if Trump and half the Senate could be up for criminal prosecution.

(28 posts)Barr is going to release the major findings this weekend. Mueller recommended no more indictments. I swear given all of his behavior I don't understand how it's possible that he didn't collude. It just doesn't make sense. The worst part is that Fox news and trump will go on a victory lap and his approval rating will rise above 50%. Unless their is a recession this asshole might get re-elected.

(9,328 posts)indictments. I'm sure that is only Federal as state indictments are a whole different ballgame.
That appears to be referring only to Federal indictments at this time. Other investigations (state or congress) could lead to other indictments.

It's possible Report finds Trump likely obstructed evidence, but is of the opinion he can't be indicted for that.
He dumped it late Friday. They usually do that, when they want to bury a story, or don't want others to have time to take any action. OTOH, Mueller has filed indictments on Friday afternoons before.
