LOL!! - TODD AKIN Tells the GOP to KISS The Missouri SENATE SEAT GOODBYE

LOL!...Payback is such a BIACH!!

In a brief statement, Todd Akin essentially told the Republican Party to forget about defeating Claire McCaskill because he is going to be in the race until November. Rep. Akin made it clear to the entire Republican Party that he isn’t going anywhere. He said negotations may be happening, but they have nothing to do with him. Akin also reminded Republicans that the voters chose him, and he lobbed a few attacks in Claire McCaskill’s direction.

Akin claimed that threats have been made against him, and that the FBI is investigating. What he didn’t say was who made those threats. We are supposed to assume that it was the left, but it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if his fellow Republicans were threatening him in order to get him out of the race. When asked how he was going to campaign without party support, Rep. Akin said that campaigning is campaigning and that he would run a “normal” campaign. Rep. Akin’s press conference was designed to do nothing more than stick a thumb in the eye of Mitt Romney and the Republican Party. Akin isn’t going anywhere, and there is nothing the GOP can do to remove him.

Todd Akin may be delivering a death blow to the Republican hopes of retaking the Senate, and he could care less, which makes him the perfect poster child for the modern GOP. The Republican Party has been increasingly preaching selfishness and self interest to the nation for years, so why are they surprised when one of their own isn’t swayed by their take one for the team and get out of the race arguments?

The rest of the GOP adopted the platform that would outlaw all abortions. They are no different and pretending to be just makes them look stupid and hypocritical.

I drove from my conservative town in Missouri to Independence today, along 50 hwy. Driving along I saw only one Akin bumpersticker and five signs. This is within an hour's drive. I saw more bumper stickers for Claire than I'd ever seen any other time and most looked brand new.

I was also down at Dem HQ in my town this morning and they said that they've had quite the run on info, bumper stickers and such for Claire. When you enter you're always asked if you would like to sign in to receive more information via email. When I signed in on Claire and Teresa's sheets I saw Claire's was full, with many offering to volunteer in whatever manner needed for the campaign. (Same with Teresa Hensley, though not quite as many. She's running against Vicky Hartzler and quite a few are upset that it took Hartzler five days to say anything about Akin one way or another. She finally spoke out late last night but the public opinion is now that she believes as he does.)

Claire was in town today and, from what I understand, the crowd was very good to her. Right now, she's touring all the military towns, veterans homes, etc and speaking with them.Supposedly the crowds were bigger than usual too.

Some of the GOP are fighting them. Some are losing but I think it's fair to say that they will finally realize the time has come to purge themselves of these buffoons.

In any disorganized group that will never go away, eventually a leader will emerge to lead them out of the darkness.

After they have suffered enough humiliating losses.

Maybe in a year or two.

One juror babbled something about how "We don't stoop to that level..."

Yeah, but they do.

This is why they win; they use tactics that we here in Idealistville would neither use nor consider. We discuss the world we wish for, not the world as it is.

But refusing to discuss something the GOP has repeatedly demonstrated they are capable of because we are "above" that, yeah... that's pretty much why we lose.
