(16,294 posts)Because he is a fighter. This was what I was told by a poster here at the height of the DU Avenatti love fest.
It sounded batshit crazy even then, and now it seems even more so.

(6,336 posts)...when NKE stock hit it's all time high of 88/share. And then it feel after the earnings announcement, trimming about $11 billion from the company's market cap.
If you wanted to sell against a stock, earnings day is one of the best choices because there's so much volume on the announcement. And I wonder if DoJ has any visibility to Mr. A's brokerage account. Won't look good if he was shorting NKE going into earnings.

(1,220 posts)After that, it's just a matter of whether he wants to press the charges - based on behavior of the suspect, of course.
trump is doing the same thing. Expect anyone who crosses him to have suddenly been under investigation for some time with charges pending.
LOCK THEM UP! isn't just a trump rally slogan.

what does that have to do with a Putin set up?

(1,220 posts)and his kids are guilty of worse financial crimes than Avenatti yet the special counsel couldn't find a way to recommend any further indictments.
Yet Avenatti, days afterward, is suddenly arrested for the same type of "crimes" - some of which, when "perpetrated" by other attorneys, are called prepping for a settlement prior to a lawsuit.
But I guess it all depends on who makes the laws. Then it depends on who enforces the laws.
Right now, like pootin, trump is making and enforcing the laws.
I just find it unusual that all this began the same time mueller tacitly exonerated trump. They went after Avenatti once and it turned out to be bogus. Some people here cheered then. Some people are cheering now. I don't get it.

(43,102 posts)didn't make him (apparently blatantly and stupidly) try to blackmail Nike and/or embezzle money.
Also, I am waiting to see the full Mueller report, there is ZERO chance it fully exonerates Rump and all his goons, and I also think Mueller handed off some hardcore evidence to other jurisdictions.

But he sure was a lot of fun when he was pulling Trumps chain. I hope he gets in a position to do it again actually.
