Start with a public option. I'll bet that polls at eighty percent. If you want your private plan you can keep it or you can buy a government plan. I would even let employers buy in for their employees.

But it costs him next to nothing to kill these things. His only constituency is a deep red KY and the rich bastards who own him. He DGAF.

It is very difficult to get Dems together on a complicated issue like health care. For that specific issue, Dems are just working defense until the 2020 election. Debating health care now would probably be more divisive than helpful.
