Desperation allowed cute "It's Mueller Time" memes to override what was right in front of our face.

We wanted justice so bad that we were willing to completely ignore Mueller's political history, his assistance in lying us into the Iraq War, and every other obvious sign that this was never going to be an impartial investigation. A guy whose personal and political history should be demonized on DU was instead lionized and worshipped because he was, simply, our only hope.

When cute memes become more important than facts, people are ultimately going to be disappointed.

2. Fuck no

I'm so tired of these fucking bullshit threads when we haven't seen the report.

If the report was so good for Trump, why haven't we even seen a full sentence from it?

Some people are completely susceptible to Republican propaganda. They fall for it every time.

12. OK. Tell us what in that post indicates "adoration" of Mueller

and who are you talking about when you say "our adoration?"

How many more strawmen are you going to attack because of feeling foolish and disappointed?

It's in every Republicans blood, they do not separate their political party from the country.

Mueller and Barr are there to save the Republican party, they also believe in his domestic agenda.

They both want to whitewash the treason so Trump can complete his domestic dismantling of the federal government by 2020.

7. It appeared that Mueller was going to be a straight shooter, time will tell how much he was.

I said from the beginning, we were putting a lot of hope on just one person to find justice.
Hopefully the House will get us closer to the truth.

hope.

I didn't "lionize" or "worship" Mueller. I didn't think he was our only hope, and I am informed enough to know that it's not over, and that he likely handed off investigations to local DAs.

It appears as though someone needs other people on DU to be ashamed of themselves because they feel that everyone else lifted his/her hopes about Mueller only to have them dashed to bits, and feels like a fool.

That's not on me, bud.

we see what we are going to of the Mueller Report, and Mueller actually testifies before the House?

I have some skepticism myself, but let's get whatever facts will be available before we pass judgement. At this point, we don't actually know that Mueller hasn't done our democracy a tremendous service either.

13. :) Oh I knew well enough that Mueller memes were failing to recognize facts.

Why he was immediately granted sainthood the minute he was chosen to head the investigation is beyond me, besides the obvious: he was our one shot. We are beggars with this madman in the White House, and beggars can't be choosers.

As soon as he was named special counsel though, I knew we were likely fked.

I can't bring myself to whitewash someone's abhorrent personal and political history just because he "may" (TBD once we see the final report) be on our side this time.

The Repugs FEARED the Mueller report (and still do). They know that mueller led to several spin-off investigations which are still ongoing. They knew he took down some major players. (Who went to jail in Iran Contra?)

Mueller was an effective weapon in stopping trump from lifting all Russian sanctions.

He had/has his uses and his report may still be of value if we get to see it.

Keep rattling their chain with the Report, with SDNY, with AG NY, with Satar and all that we have.

Big mistake to postpone Satar. Much more valuable than lying Barr.

16. I'm fond of this fact: the only basis we have to dismiss Mueller's work is the word of William Barr
Wed Mar 27, 2019, 01:06 PM

That doesn't seem like much when measured against the indictments, guilty pleas, and convictions the investigation brought, to say nothing of the other fact trails, secondary investigations, and so on. So I'll wait until we have something a little more compelling before I dismiss his work as solely that of a partisan hack.
