What a problem republicans are for America, I no longer have time to listen to a single thing you have to say. This narrative is complete bullshit. Trump sexually assaulted at least 20 women, perhaps some under age. He is a serial cheater and had unprotected sex with an adult film star when his son was only days old.
STOP with the false equivalence.

(32,579 posts)I agree there is no equivalence between Chump's many proven assaults on women and those few allegedly done by our Democratic candidates. Everything you say about Chump is true and has been proven.
However, I take exception to your statement that we shouldn't be discussing this now. Yes we need to discuss it now, because later will be TOO LATE. Now is the time for Democrats to ask questions and state our possible exceptions to any candidate. That's what Democratic Underground is for. I trust the other posters here to listen and consider my position, just as I listen to others.
We don't all agree with one another, and that's OK. But we do listen and we do respect each other's opinions. If I can listen to you and convince you that I have a better idea, well that's great. But if I can't, that's great too. At least we communicated.
I'm a long-time resident of Pennsylvania and I happen to think that Joe Biden would do very well here as the Democratic candidate. He's as middle-of-the-road as Democrats can get, a known quantity, somebody we can sit down and have a beer with. I hope he does get the nomination simply for that reason, but I want to hear what all the candidates have to say before I jump on Biden's wagon.

(6,042 posts)So Biden is the whipping boy for Donald Trump because people have a wrong-headed concept of Democracy--the presidency is not a Dictatorship led by a King but
it is weird logic to make a huge public issue out of Biden's behavior while not addressing Trump's behaviors-from person, to payoffs to women, to using the power of the office to appoint anti-democratic, and anti-women people to high office and judgeships.
If Biden has behaviors regarding physical closeness or touching women that one thinks are wrong and demeaning the best way to initially deal with it would be in a non-public, non-adversarial manner. A delegation of women meeting with him in private would likely have been effective. If not, one still has the public option.
Why reach for the microphone first and offer cover to Donald Trump at the critical time of a cover up of the Mueller Report, or other political atrocities. The public route seems to me to be more about attacking tha changing behavior or protecting women from inequality.
Why talk to another Democrat first through the media-especially someone who is very accessible?
