The PUMAs were particularly virulent Hillary Clinton supporters who swore (and many did not) that they would not vote for then Senator Barack Obama. I was a strong Hillary supporter in 2008, but not a PUMA, I maxed out for President Obama once it was clear that he was the nominee. I did not join DU until after the 2010 midterms disaster, so I don't know which DU members were PUMAs.

Plus Bernie going away for more than a month after the convention and even after coming back did not try to calm down his supporters.

People like to write that a higher percentage of PUMAs voted for McCain than Bernie supporters that voted third party of for Trump. They ignore that Hillary's devout activism for President Obama GREATLY deminished defections. I was a strong Hillary supporter and was hot as President Obama kept pulling away and was livid when he didn't chose her as VP. But when Hillary joined him on a campaign stage immediately after she conceded and said "vote for Barack, because I will be", that was it for me, I was 100% behind the President after that moment, if she had not done that, my hard feelings could have lingered.

and Sanders was and is trying to lead a populist movement. He also has left-wing dissident types, but they share hostility toward mainstream liberals with the social conservatives who dominate populist movements and fall in with their behaviors.

Knowing that, it was a huge non-surprise seeing them chanting "lock-her-up" at our national convention just like their fellow despicables in Trump's camp. Sanders sitting there silent without even pretending to try to stop them was interesting, but he had brought them to the party... And frankly, I doubted he could have.

They can be tear gassed during their wild protests, but where would that have led?

They came into the convention hall to totally disrupt. I do think Bernie could have done something in the convention hall, he could have asked for 5 minutes to address them and calm them down, I am sure that would have been readily granted. But Bernie did nothing as the grotesque acts from his supporters grew in number.

for more this election. I could see Sanders refusing to drop out for months and clinging to the spotlight and whomever he's drawn from the right especially, and they of course would understand their role. But maybe he'll surprise us this time by genuinely getting behind one of the frontrunners. That'd enrage the worst of his followers of course.

The WaPo has a new article about how Russia targeted Sanders supporters, and others. They will again regardless of what Sanders himself does.

2. He lost the nomination.

3. He won't get the nomination in 2020.

4. He's not a Democrat.

5. He, like Ralph Nader, has lost any interest in winning elections, and instead seems to be enjoying spoiling elections.

6. The only reason he isn't Trump's best friend is because Trump is his own best friend.

7. If Bernie supporters would rather have Trump as President than see a Democrat win in 2020, this is the wrong site for them. We're Democrats here.

This time is different. You see alot more of the 'regular' Dem types swinging back hard at the alt-left/BoB's on social media, and they don't tolerate criticism well at all.

The Russian language has no articles, and is declined. It is difficult for them to master sounding like a native speaker of English. To sound coherent, they need to insert parts of speech their native language lacks altogether.

A Russian just learning English would conceptualize "I brought the sick man a basket full of goodies" as "I brought sick man basket full goodies."

Even sophisticated Russians often leave out "a" and "the" when writing English, because they have no instinctive feel for when they are appropriate and when not.
