Rosenstein Says Barr Isn’t Trying to Mislead
April 11, 2019 at 7:47 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein defended the Justice Department’s handling of the special counsel’s still-secret report, telling the Wall Street Journal that Attorney General William Barr is “being as forthcoming as he can” about his process for redacting and releasing the roughly 400-page document.

“Mr. Rosenstein beat back suggestions that Mr. Barr is trying to mislead the public by releasing only a four-page summary of Robert Mueller’s investigation.”

when pundits were discussing why Rosenstein would support Barr. They said how he obstructed justice himself so don't expect much from him as far as this goes in the future since he is not exactly clean either.

… so are Mueller and Barr. They would ally themselves with Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. His statement, Barr is "being as forthcoming as he can," is true, however. Barr is not capable of being very forthcoming.

tells me Barr is saying what Trump needs to hear. "Handling it the right way" could mean "in order to take this guy down, we have to play this game of obfuscating the Mueller report so Trump will be satisfied while the investigations continue to play out to conclusion..."

I know it's speculation on my part, but one can hope?

But then again, Rosenstein wrote the letter for Trump to fire Comes.

… detest Trump. They would rather have had Jeb... At one point, Rosenstein did say the 25th Amendment talk was not serious - but others present say it was. I think many of them are "handling" Trump as their best option until they can finally be rid of him. #1 leaker Kellyanne will have to take the longest shower, when it's over...

Rosenstein said that he found that people think Barr was being misleading was "bizarre," for example. He didn't say they were wrong. He said it was bizarre.

OTOH, when asked such a question, what do we expect someone who works in the DOJ to say? "Yeah, Barr is totally misleading everyone. He's a liar."

Rosenstein is an accessory to Trump's obstruction of Justice, so it should come as no surprise that he is fine with Barr covering up that crime.

You don't have to try when you're hired to purposefully mislead and disrupt! That comes naturally to the Trump cabal.

He is bought and sold. Period, paragraph.

The following is Barr's response when pressed on his claim that the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign.

"There is a basis for my concern, but I'm not going to discuss the basis," Barr said.

It is unethical, at best, to make a charge and immediately fail to establish a basis for the charge, as he has done here. You say nothing until you are in a position to say something definitive. Indeed, this is the same crap Comey pulled when about 8 days before the election he announced that he was reopening the Clinton email investigation based on a backup file they had stumbled across. That, obviously, lead nowhere. And that, too, was unethical. Besides, the timeline has been examined closely and the FISA tap was by the book. I'm sure he is looking at the two agents that were having the affair and texted one another some unflattering things about Trump.
