and should be removed. It is hate speech. It makes me want to create a Twitter account just to protest it. What a disgusting man!

(17,302 posts)You can see his tweet for exactly what it is. So can his base. But when the complaints flood into Twitter headquarters, they're going to turn a blind eye to it because A) it's the president of the United States (as CRAZY as that thought may be when you're talking about Trump) and B) He worded it in a way that's not overtly hateful. He's crafty -- or whoever is handling his social media is sly.

(5,928 posts)I'd sure like to hear or read a little more than the *three* lousy words that the right-wing propagandists have lifted out of context and are playing in an endless loop.
Thanks.

(16,091 posts)he really could go and shoot people on national TV. He could pull up a bunch of little immigrant kids on stage at one of his hate-rallies and personally execute each one of them and no one would do a damned thing.
A few Republicans might tsk tsk and suggest he maybe shouldn't have done that, maybe, but in the end, "he's a sitting Republican president, he's untouchable" will win the day and he still can't be impeached because the Senate won't convict.
I don't see how we come back from this. Ever.

(51,584 posts)Did he have dementia in 2001? No, same old liar and con man. He said he saw people cheering after the towers came down...total BS! I guess he also forgets that the hijackers were mostly from Kushner's pals' country of Saudi Arabia too.
"Hey, I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down, and I watched, in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down! Thousands of people were cheering!
Faced with criticism, he dug his heels in.
In an interview on ABCs This Week days later, he told George Stephanopoulos, It did happen. I saw it. It was on television, I saw it. George, it did happen. There were people who were cheering on the other side of New Jersey where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down. I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it. He reiterated the point on NBCs Meet the Press: I saw it. So many people saw it. And, so, why would I take it back? Im not going to take it back.
