He has expressed regret for not being involved in 2016. And, in his Broadway show he talked about being inspired by the resistance to Trump. A film with a theme of rebuilding after disaster is a start.

I was riffing on Freddie 'Boom Boom' Cannon's 'Palisades Park' (hat tip to Chuck 'Gong Show' Barris), but Asbury Park was (and is) a whole lot more than mere bubblegum music.
