11. He's a RWNJ, but he did draw the line with Chump

Even McGahn could see how out of control Chump was in the White House.

By the way, Don McGahn was in the same meeting when Jeff Sessions told Chump he was recusing and Mueller was hired as a special investigator. McGahn was there when Chump said "I'm fucked." I would think maybe that was the start of his own personal resistance against the orange asshole. Later Chump wanted McGahn to fire Mueller, and McGahn refused and threatened to quit himself. There are a bunch of stories in Bob Woodward's book "Fear."

I don't have any respect for him. Don't forget how he sat behind Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing. McGahn is a republican hack, just like every other one of them.

Just like Barr thinks he's the savior of right wing agenda by propping up Trump in hopes they will get another rightwinger on the court.

8. That's not true, IMO. He reported it fully to Mueller, which was for the public.

He didn't write a tell-all book, that's true.

The only people who would have believed him, or cared, would have been Democrats. It was well known in Washington what he & others had been asked to do, which they had all refused.

He could have not said anything to Mueller, or said little. Or refused to go back for add'l interviews. He spent many hours being interviewed by Mueller.

He did his duty.

What do you think would've happened if he'd said, Trump asked me to fire Mueller. ?? He didn't fire Mueller. No one fired Mueller. So...what would have happened? It wouldn't have been any more a crime then as now, and Mueller says he can't decide one way or the other. Republicans wouldn't have believed him. Only Democrats. And that doesn't help the country.

But telling Mueller does help the country. Saying it under oath helps the country. Writing a tell-all book is for money, not for the country.

We knew he'd been trying to get rid of Mueller, right? Anyone with a brain knew that. (which excludes the cult followers known as Trumpers)

13. That wouldn't have helped a bit.... He saw the light... I'll take it for what it's worth.....

His testimony was devastating and it's now on record..not buried anywhere. If he would have barked, it would have put Trump, et al. on alert and who knows what could have been done to further thwart the investigation. There's no guarantee anything would have come from it...

I think this comment is unhelpful (sorry) and it feeds into the negative Tweet Trump just recently posted about McGahn... This being posted on DU puts McGahn's testimony/credibility in question IMO and agrees with Trump's sentiment ATM.

None of us here know why he did what he did, or didn't do....

We can not like him, but for pete's sake let's give him some credit for his testimony because it hurts Trump.
