WASHINGTON The U.S. Navy is investigating a report that a female Marine found a camera in the women's bathroom of the USS Arlington, according to three military officials.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Sixth Fleet confirmed that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is probing a "recording device in a head" aboard the Arlington, an amphibious transport dock that is currently in port in Greece.
"The command has taken, and will continue to take, all necessary actions to ensure the safety and privacy of the victim," said Cdr. Kyle Raines. "The Navy/Marine Corps team takes all reports of sexual harassment seriously, and are committed to thoroughly investigating these allegations and providing resources and care to victims of sexual harassment."
"To protect the legal rights and the privacy of all involved, we cannot release details, names, or any other identifying information at this time," said Raines.

(108,009 posts)As a guy I know we tend to be more visual in our fantasies. But watching a woman pee or defecate?
And of course there's the obvious invasion of privacy in this case.

(14,154 posts)The American Psychiatric Association has classified certain voyeuristic fantasies, urges and behaviour patterns as a paraphilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) if the person has acted on these urges, or the sexual urges or fantasies cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty.[3] It is described as a disorder of sexual preference in the ICD-10.[4] The DSM-IV defines voyeurism as the act of looking at "unsuspecting individuals, usually strangers, who are naked, in the process of disrobing, or engaging in sexual activity".[5] The diagnosis would not be given to people who experience typical sexual arousal simply by seeing nudity or sexual activity. In order to be diagnosed with voyeuristic disorder the symptoms must persist for over six months and the person in question must be over the age of 18.[6]
