Already the media is wondering if Democrats will push to hard

And overplay their hand because Mueller didn’t find criminal conspiracy.

This is why we need public hearings. Keep the facts square in the public realm. And leave the political solution of impeachment off the table until the public is with us. All the while thwart Trumpass at every turn and pass legislation that is popular with the country. This is how we win it all and believe it or not our best shot at impeachment and conviction.

.... if trumps base sneezes, he reacts..we need that same kind of commitment from our dem leaders.

who was guilty of the same deeds (as if) the media would be taking bets right now on when he would resign. In no small part because Republicans would have been clamoring nonstop for that since 2016.

That is just not how it is for Democrats. I agree we have a problem with messaging and wish we were better at it. But I think the problem is more complex and resides with the media itself.
