Why can't investigations and open hearings and testimony take place

before an official impeachment be announced. Can’t the pre work be done and strengthened and completed before impeachment is brought or even discussed?

It's either...yeah we already know he's a bad guy or folks don't know what is in the report....there is a lot in there and it will take a while to dissect and marinate with the American people...

When and IF the time is truly right for impeachment we will know. Also impeaching does what...?? Let's him off the hook as well and sucks out all the oxygen out of country for the next x amount of months. I do not want Pence pardoning him from obstruction.

13. What I suspect

is that the process in motion is certainly what you describe. They/we have been waiting for the report to emerge and now it has, right before a long recess. That does not mean that House members are not paying attention, they know you can't turn your back on these criminals for a second.

Idiot is caught and he knows it, he will do anything to avoid being held accountable so we can expect every form of offensive from him. I mean offensive actions against We the People, the biosphere, our allies and his perceived enemies - which is everybody. He's a cornered rat now and everyone knows it whether they choose to accept it or not. Lashing out/bullying/lying is all he has in his toolbox so that's what he'll try to use.

among others. They are "downplaying" the impeachment angle, but are scheduling and holding hearings. They are issuing subpoenas and calling witnesses.
