There's a lot of talk on the cable news shows about whether the Dems should impeach Trump. My gut tells me that the word 'impeach' means different things to different people. That as many people that understand the process of impeachment - there are as many people that have a false notion as to what it means and what the process of impeachment involves.
That's why I believe that we need to be educated as to what 'impeachment' means and what the process of impeachment involves and what the outcomes of the whole process could be.
First - educate us on why 'impeachment' exists. What is the derivation of 'impeachment'. Give us some historical facts about how 'impeachment' was previously used in our country and take us through what has to happen for the process of impeachment to be invoked now and what the possible outcomes could be if invoked for Trump.
I believe this is a first step - before more polls be taken to ask the American people whether they are for or against 'impeachment'. We need to understand what it means before we can answer whether or not the process should start.

(46,328 posts)The American public as a whole has been brainwashed by the sound-bite pushers and demagogues at Faux "news."
Anything complex like impeachment would only get little interest.
Bill Clinton's impeachment got the interest it got, due to it being a partisan fight, and having lurid sex.

(21,155 posts)Educational in their reporting. They did a segment recently on what is Im impeachment.
I was in high school in 1974 and my teacher discussed current events everyday and we learned about impeachment. I think in some classrooms in America impeachment is also being brought up.

(7,398 posts)impeachment already.
As to the OP, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the idea. I just don't know how many it would reach.

(25,250 posts)We just have to hope that such a program could reach as many people as it can.
A better informed public - is better than an uninformed public.
Anyone we reach - that will learn something and walk away with a better understanding is better than not attempting to educate the public at all.
Maybe even Trump would watch such a program and learn something. Afterall - he does watch a lot of TV!!!!! (sarcasm)

(25,250 posts)I only said MSNBC because I was listening to a spirited debate on MSNBC at the time about impeachment that gave me this idea.
Such an educational program probably should be aired on CBS, NBC or ABC (network TV stations). Maybe on 60 Minutes or 20/20 type programs.
I just feel before you ask people to say whether they are for or against impeachment - that they have a better idea on what it all entails.
