Joy seems over-caffeinated today

She's talking as fast as an auctioneer, interrupting like Tweety, and is as animated as Kornacki.

Best guess is that after filling in for Hayes last night, she pounded down coffee this morning to make up for sleep loss.

1. She's doing double shifts this week

The regulars are taking days off and Joy is one of the fill-in hosts. It's got to be hard to keep up the strength for a week like that. Some day soon, Joy will be a regular and others will be filling in for her while she gets R&R.

I do like Joy and I think she's one of the better interviewers on MSNBC. On a scale of one to 10 (for interviewing skills only) Rachel is a 10, Chris Matthews is a 1. I'd put Joy around 8 or 9.

3. Joy should replace Tweety on weeknights.

Then they can roll out Tweety occasionally as a sage emeritus like they do Brockaw.

My only concern is they get someone good to take the weekend morning shifts.
