the corrupt, undemocratic, Trump-coddling Senate would get the last word in the impeachment

first of all, I think everyone must realize that whether the Senate would actually convict him is not an open question. The outcome of a senate trial is 100% guaranteed, they will NOT remove Donald J. Trump.

So the Senate trial won't result in Trump being removed. It will be the final episode in the whole matter, and the GOP will milk it. They'll drag it out. They'll time it to coincide with the 2020 election. Lindsey Graham will lead the shit show. It will be ugly, it will be torture for us. And the dems don't have any moves after it.

And the more the Republicans align themselves with Trump, the worse they will do in the Senate in 2020.

If Lindsey Graham leads the shit show, he will be confronted with a daily rebroadcast of himself from 1998 telling himself in 2019 that he needs to impeach the President.

7. Over estimate

I would not over estimate the Republicans vote in the Senate. Self preservation is pretty high up on the list for people with low moral character.

Good:...No Impeachment Vote or Trump resign

Bad:..Convict Trump but maintain their own seats

Ugly:...Don't convict...having to state in front of the American people...I trust Trump...I support the unindicted co-conspiractor who lied to the American people during the last elections.
