Pharma Bro transferred out of low-security prison after cell phone antics

Not cool.

“Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli has been transferred out of his low-security prison and hauled back to Brooklyn after a report he was still running his business and tweeting with a contraband cell phone.

Shkreli, 36, who’s serving seven years in a federal prison for defrauding investors, has been moved from the prison at Fort Dix in New Jersey to the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Brooklyn, according to federal Bureau of Prisons records.

His lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, told CNBC he’ll remain there until his transfer to a prison in Allenwood, Penn.

The transfer comes after federal prison authorities opened a probe into Shkreli’s behavior behind bars, following a March Wall Street Journal report that he used the phone to call the shots at Phoenixus AG, and tried to fire the company’s CEO, Kevin Mulleady.
