Polls show that many Americans don't think they are benefiting from the bustling economy.

From the Hill..

A pair of polls released Monday showed that many Americans don't think they are benefiting from the bustling economy, revealing weak spots for President Trump in public opinion despite strong economic growth.

A Monmouth University Poll found that more than half of Americans don't think they've been substantially helped by the strong macroeconomic trends, with 27 percent saying they haven't benefited much and another 27 percent saying they haven't benefited at all.

Just 12 percent said the strong economy has helped their family a great deal.

This is a very good sign. Even a "good" economy wont help Trump win the election.

2. Because it isn't really a good economy.

As I heard from an economist today on the radio, the stock market affects many people but 10% of the population owns 90% of the stock so a good market is good for them, not for the general population. The unemployment numbers are low, but the jobs that people have taken are jobs that do not pay a living wage. People are also losing their health insurance because of the Republicans going after the ACA, so people are feeling anxiety about their livelihoods.

Often people are fooled by reports of the stock market booming and economy growing and low unemployment. That's why this poll is important in that people are wising up.

The cost of groceries has gone sky high, housing is unaffordable for many people and the cost of gas is going up again. Diabetics can't afford insulin in the United States of America. The wonderful economy is just another Trump fairy story.

8. Oddly the strongest wage gains in recent years have been to the bottom 40% of earners

Mostly thanks to states and localities (and now, large companies) bumping up minimum wages.

This really just is a case of people not being very good at noticing when they make more money, and I hope it continues through 2020.

10. So in other words a "3.2% GDP" doesn't mean shit when nobody's any better

off than when the GDP was 1.8%.

as an indicator of financial health. Sure there is growth in product and monetary value, but when 90% of the benefits are going to the wealthiest people in the country, then people who are not wealthy are not going to feel very satisfied by a higher GDP. When wage growth is 4% and cost of living has gone up 6% (not sure of the actual numbers).

Trump's loyal supporters are pretty stupid, and immune to facts. We aren't looking to convince that group. We are looking to engage the much larger group of people who are disengaged from politics. The over 46% of eligible voters who did not vote in 2016.

They are a lost cause. Sometimes I still run into them in casual conversation though, and have a hard time avoiding the urge to exploit the stupidity when it starts coming out.

We are being disrespected by a vile POS. He has given his friends and donors the fruits of our labor in tax cuts, and they are laughing at us. Wake up Americans. This POS liar has not given its' citizens anything but thrusting this country into the abyss of destruction.

Taxes go up and your retired money stays the same. Stuff still breaks around the house, right now we have leak under kitchen sink, I have plastic bowl out, plumbers in my area expensive.
