Like "his generals." Almost to a man, they entered his orbit with good reputations and long careers, and every one of them left besmirched.

It's his unique gift: No matter how small that crack is, he finds it. Can't remember who said it, but it sounds right.

I recommend Rick Wilson's "Everything Trump Touches Dies," now out in paperback. A lifelong GOP operative and a never-Trumper, you won't like what he says about Hillary's campaign, but his take on all things Trump is funny, hair-raising, acute, and acidulous.
