Just saw "The Campaign." *NO SPOILERS*

It was as if we DUers had gotten together and written a movie about a political campaign. Will Farrell is a hoot as one of the candidates, and John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd are spot-on as two Koch brother types. There is lots of rude and gross-out humor, and other more pointed political jokes and sight gags that perhaps only political junkies like ourselves will truly get. Plus there are hilarious cameos by folks you are sure to recognize. Despite all the silliness, there is a lot of truth here.

Why waste money on the ticket? "The campaign" we're watching now is as at least as funny!

But those who have only just begun to pay attention have missed out on a lot of the fun. Herman Cain, Donald Trump, Michelle Bachmann -- need I go on?

I thought the film was silly but I laughed a lot.Zack and Will need to do more films together. The message is right on target by the way. I heard Will Ferrell while doing press say they got the idea watching the Republican primaries. The film went into production rather fast because they wanted this out before the election. I enjoy movies like this but the Koch brothers involvement was oh so obvious. I think when it comes out on DVD and if you are looking for just a silly movie that will make you laugh out loud a lot, then you can't go wrong with this film. It really does have everything.

(The baby punching scene you've seen in the trailer plays out very well by the way)

since everyone is so stupid, do they use the word retarded?

previously known as retarded.

He knows the word. He knows it is what he is. So I just prefer for him not to have to hear it. He loves slapstick kind of stuff so would love much of what this one does, I think.

I don't know. May very well be but he is handicapped due to a childhood accident rather than a birth defect. I don't know if that is the difference or if I am just not up on the latest preferred terms. lol

He might recognize them all but "retarded" would stand out. It's not a outright movie killer. It's just some of those slapstick ones kind of go heavy on the "retardo" name calling and while he has never said anything about it, I just prefer for him to not have to hear it.

No insults to the MH that I can recall. Might not be suitable for your brother.

he's 57 so it's not like he's never seen any of that in movies. I just remember that last one we went to "star trek" had a pretty simple scene of Kirk on top of and kissing a woman. I glanced at him and he was like hmm hmmm hmmm. Like humming, you know like when you roll your eyes and act like your just busy humming away, not noticing what is going on. It was totally funny, but made me think he was just a tad uncomfortable with it.

It's hard to not have any in any movie. Thanks for the heads up. though, I will probably steer him in another direction. Missed the 3 stooges. He would have liked that one. WIll probably have to buy him the dvd now. lol

Hows batman I wonder. That one is definitely on his list. He doesn't mind the violence in movies.

Realize that last scene, for real we will do returns in November...

Oh and the press... probably the most accurate portrayal of local press I have seen.

I will leave it at that.
