What The Hell Did I Just Watch? Schumer & Pelosi At The WH.....

What is going on? Is this for real? Infrastructure? Broadband? Two trillion dollars?

What did I miss? What is the strategy behind such a move by the Dems? Do they purposely want to give Trump a win on this? Before the 2020 election?

You know that if this move is successful - he will run on this as if it was all his and his only idea.

Is such a move by Schumer and Pelosi undercutting the Dem candidates that are running for the nomination?

I just don't get it? Could somebody please explain? Help? I'm totally confused now?

Are they trying to put Trump in a bind between he and his Party? What gives?

Infrastructure's been an issue for a long time, kind of like immigration; no easy fixes, and certainly nothing cheap.

I would be screaming at the TV. I'm at a loss for words and it's a good thing because the words wouldn't be nice.

I guess Pelosi and Schumer just showed that they can work with Trump. 4 more years, ehh?

I say go for it.

Ted Kennedy stopped negotiating with Nixon on healthcare during Watergate. It was a mistake.

1) Trump is actually going to do this regardless, so Dems might as well attempt to be seen as being an integral/involved part of the process, or
2) Trump really has no intention of actually going through with it, but this way Dems can be seen as having been pushing for it/negotiating to make it happen ... takes away his excuse later that 'Well, I really tried, but Dems obstructed!?!'

Off the top of my head ...

Basically Democrats likely should want to see infrastructure improvements along these lines ... it's a lot of good jobs, and less $$$ that'd otherwise likely be thrown at the military, so ...

Infrastructure is popular. Meeting with Trump on infrastructure argues for a Democratic House and Senate.

Congressional Republicans don't want to spend $2 trillion on infrastructure so they will grumble about Trump cutting a deal with Democrats. Once he starts getting pushback from Fox News he'll renege on the deal, and return to his "I never made an agreement with lyin' Chuck and Nancy" spiel. This will appease his base, but provide yet more evidence to everyone else that Republicans can't govern for shit and if people want anything done they need to elect Democrats.

IMO.

If they were there to "negotiate" women's reproductive rights, I'd scream, too. Tons of money for infrastructure is what they should be working on. The Republicans will sink it, making them look like the creeps they are. Probably Trump will come out against it tomorrow. We look "bipartisan," and they look like idiots.
