A Georgia man was sentenced to 10 years in prison last week after holding a teenage girl captive and sexually assaulting her ― but he will not see the inside of a prison cell.
Michael Wysolovski, 33, was arrested in June 2017 after FBI agents found a 17-year-old girl, who had been missing for over a year, trapped in a dog cage in his home in Duluth, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. The Atlanta Journal-Constituion reported that the victim, who HuffPost will not name because she is a sexual assault survivor, was found severely malnourished and suffering from back problems due to the dog cage. She had also contracted ringworm from the unsanitary conditions.
The psychological damage Michael Wysolovski inflicted is beyond imagination, the victim, clutching a stuffed animal, said in court last week, according to local outlet WIS News.
Wysolovski pled guilty last week to first-degree cruelty to children and interstate interference with custody. Although he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Wysolovski received credit for time served during the eight months he was in a detention center prior to his sentencing. The remaining nine years and four months of his sentence will be served on probation and he will have to register as a sex offender for life.
I dont see any emotion from you. I dont see any remorse from you, Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Timothy Hamil said during sentencing. I am not moved to give you first offender status... In my time on the bench I can count on both hands the time Ive refused to give someone first offender status ― but theres something inside me that says this is one of those times.

or Barr will continue to preside over injustices like this, and rapists from Kavanaugh on down will continue to run shit. After all, we have a rapist in chief saying it's all okay, and idiots want to "run out the clock" instead of helping victims today.
What is the correlation? Barr recently ruled while everyone was paying attention to other matters that immigrant families can be indefinitely detained.
kids in cages. It's as American as apple pie.
I am so disgusted I plan to leave the country in the next ninety days.
It is not what is being done that disgusts me about America. It's how little do anything about it.
yes, I will vote from elsewhere, absentee, but I cannot any longer tolerate the acceptance of evil with inaction.

(61,694 posts)They might be the type to kidnap and put that rapist in a dog crate for a few years, then take him out to a wilderness area to get lost.
If anyone did what he did to anyone in my family and got time served, I'd probably be setting things up.
I just don't understand how a judge can let him get away with 8 months when that poor girl was so badly abused. The man is 33. I don't think this is the first time he raped a woman or girl.

"Sexual Assault" might indicate presidential aspirations.
I don't think prison time would help this guy. Without remorse, there would be no correction. But it would get him away from society and might give his victim some measure of relief.

(4,164 posts)There was a Montana judge about 4-5 years ago who ruled that a teenage girl who had committed suicide was the aggressor and let the older man off with a slap on the wrist.
The old white men who are judges are all over this country.
It is always her fault, he had no control over the situation ( bullshit)

Two fathers raped their daughters. One got 60 days in jail. The other? 1,503 years in prison.

What kind of message is this sending to would be kidnappers and rapists? You pretty much get a free pass if it's your first offense.
Fuck that judge. If there is a hell, he should be right along side the rapist after his judgement.

Does such a heinous person deserve to ever be free in society? What are the chances he has any remorse?!
