Use To Be A Big Tiger Fan..Not any more!...I can not believe that he has no idea of what Trump is and how he has stoked racism and hatred in our country...I guess Tiger lives in a bubble and doesn't have the time to get involved with something as petty as the future of the country.
And the fact that he knows that Trump called Black protesting professional football players who protested on one knee, "son's of bitches" ? It's almost unbelievable.
Yea I and I know that probably 99% of Pro Golfers are Republicans and those who attend PGA events are the same.. But in life one has to make tough decisions.. He has 2 kids...evens the field..

(31,261 posts)Einstein, Pauling, Bohr, great athletes, other great scientists, great Writers. For men, at least, there seems to be something in the drive that made them great that also made it difficult for them to keep their drawers on when tempted. Not defending them, just pointing out the history. Trump is not great, he is a suck up imitator.

According to court documents filed this month, a Palm Beach County judge terminated the probation period a month earlier than his one-year sentence mandated because the pro golfer "successfully completed all regular and special conditions" of the agreement.
______
Tiger Woods pleaded guilty on Friday to reckless driving and has agreed to enter a diversion program, avoiding a DUI conviction stemming from his May arrest.
The 41-year-old former golfer, who last won a championship in 2008, was booked on a driving under the influence charge in Jupiter, Florida after he was found asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz, which was parked about 15 miles away from his home.

(2,017 posts)That Tiger is allowing himself to be used as a political pawn. He's smarter than that.
Its almost as bad as Darius Rucker chumming around with abject bigots who probably have no idea about his lyric of "tired of hearing this shit about heritage not hate" in reference to the Confederate Flag flying over South Carolina in 1994.

(8,515 posts)That 95% of the spectators at matches ....are hard core republicans and I imagine they would try to sabatoge his game with distractions and noise when he was lining up a shot. Thats if he refused to meet with Trump.... I admit that he's in a difficult situation but he has two kids which who are still very young.. Lots of hate flying around which just might get worse.
they'd be kicked out of the tournament for that right?

(8,515 posts)They would be thrown out. Other fans would have to point them out.. which they probably wouldn't. 9/10 wouldn't point them out.. it would be a serious situation!

(31,261 posts)He has never been out front on either. Remember that screwed up name he gave for his racial heritage. To his credit, he did not raise race as an issue when he got in trouble for prescription drugs (passed out behind the wheel of his Mercedes, the car had a flat).
He seems to be the type to go along to get along, definitely NO Colin Kapernack.
