The Bodhisattva Trump
Trump is a Bodhisattva. He came to embody Greed, Hatred, and Delusion. By his example one sees how the Three Poisons are manifested. He is a teacher, in a negative sense. But a teacher nonetheless.
The Wheel turns slowly, but continues to turn. We will heal and become better.

(3,605 posts)He is not a teacher.
He is an example of suffering, of one who is totally asleep - that a teacher could point to. That is different from someone who has attained through diligent work, a level of enlightenment and then dedicates their life to helping others reach enlightenment. No teacher who has reached enlightenment would ever express, or take actions, that are racist, sexist, xenophobic and filled with hatred.
A Bodhisattva will always practice love and compassion.

(12,051 posts)ever satisfy him. He's a teacher only in that Buddhism considers him a bad example.

(2,611 posts)I was trying formulate my reply when you had it already handled.
I do agree with the other respondent who ventured that he could be an example of a Hungry Ghost, though!!

(2,966 posts)As it does, generally, in western culture.
According to Hindus, Kali (Devanāgari: कलि, IAST: kali, with both vowels short; from a root kad, "suffer, hurt, startle, confuse" is the reigning lord of the Kali Yuga and archenemy of Kalki, the 10th and final avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu. In the Kalki Purana, he is portrayed as a demon and the source of all evil. In the Mahabharata, he was a gandharva who possessed Nala, forcing him to lose his Kingdom in a game of dice to his brother Pushkara. Kali is similar to the demon Kroni and his incarnation Kaliyan of Ayyavazhi mythology.

This is why I dont get into that stuff so much. Too complicated.
I was talking about the goddess of course. She gets a bad rap in western culture.

(21,646 posts)A bodhisattva with the lions roar will appear.
He will use the power he achieved in deep meditation to benefit countless beings.
By seeing, hearing, touching or thinking of him, they will be led to happiness

(18,868 posts)I was thinking about this today. All beings have Buddha Nature. No matter how awful they may be or how awful the things they have done. Trump's personality is just like clouds sweeping across a clear blue sky.
Sometimes I find this hard to fathom. Trump and other sociopaths. Psychopaths just seem totally empty to me. Their eyes are dead eyes.
They are teachers in their own way. They are examples of what you really don't want to become. And maybe that is their real role in this life.
But I just don't think they are bodhisattvas. They are the anti bodhisattva.

(53,410 posts)He is a teacher in direct proportion to those who learn from him. He therefore has an important role to play at this time in our evolutionary journey. Im not sure whether he has the capability of being conscious of that. But, of course, we see only a two dimensional figure, and how we see him is what matters. What each of us learns is up to us.

(2,611 posts)He is orthogonal to being a Bodhisattva in any n-dimensional space adequate to describe the state of being a Bodhisattva.
Or, more succinctly, No.
Or, I could wrong...
