I like C-Span Book TV on Sunday Mornings or just nothing at all.

Life is sooooo much better without the Infotainment Media Circus.

When Clinton was elected, I literally used my VCR (with actual tapes, kids!) to tape the shows so I could see all of them.

Then I discovered C-SPAN and saw a whole new world of intellectuals.

Then in the early 2000s I discovered political sites on the "information superhighway" that FINALLY seemed to capture what I was thinking. It was at this point I started realizing how bad TV news was. At this point I'd come home from work and go through a long list of bookmarks in my browser to try to read everything.

Then Twitter happened. Oh my what a revolution! I no longer had to spend hours actively searching for info, THE INFO CAME TO ME WITH NO EFFORT! And I can easily see the info on my phone and PC. This is still my primary way of being alerted to news. In addition to that I primarily check DU and DKos.

Over the past few years, I've seen several friends and family members begin to get their information in the same way, and they are SHOCKED at how bad TV news is.

His program isn't a blab fest but a thoughtful accounting of national and international events. I don't always agree with him but it's refreshing to hear news and analysis.

Anything important, controversial, or outrageous makes its way here shortly after being uttered.

No cable, no satellite, no broadcast. We quit traditional television a little over ten years ago.

Television is the worst possible medium for news and opinion.

If I wanted to hear bullshit news and opinion I'd sit next to some random drunken blowhard in a bar.

Alas, too many bars have televisions.
