How stupid and dangerous are drunks?

I saw this story at a Milwaukee TV station, paramedic shows up for training, is drunk off his ass, and has a gun.

Paramedic accused of going to training drunk, with gun

Police said Jeffrey Munson,58, of Elm Grove, was intoxicated and armed with a loaded gun when he went to training last month.

Granted, there are few opportunities to get really loaded unless family are out of town. But still...

Some get belligerent and nasty, while some get sloppy,
punchy, and affectionate.

snip-“The bottom line is that he showed up to work under the influence of alcohol,” Craig told the television station. “This was a Michigan State Police training, he blew a .08. Certainly that’s a problem, it’s a problem for me, and it may be a problem on how it was handled after that.”

We just had a deadly shooting here in St. Paul at a local bar. 2 AM, closing time. Some idiot shot someone just outside the bar and killed him. 2 AM. What are the odds that the shooter was sober? Slim, I'm guessing.

Probably both the shooter and victim were drunk. I can't remember ever seeing someone stayin in a bar until closing who wasn't.

Drunk people with guns are very, very dangerous, and very, very stupid, as a rule.
