Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) on Sunday criticized President Trump's approach to North Korea, saying she doesn't believe the president should conduct "foreign policy by tweet."
"Its a very, very hard thing to do, but youve got to quietly work and youve got to have summits that produce results where you dont just fly over, get no result, and come home," the Democratic presidential candidate told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."
She also said she believes Trump should listen to the mother of Otto Warmbier, the American student who was detained in North Korea before his death, who said in recent days that the U.S. should ramp up sanctions and put "more pressure" on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Her comments come after Trump on Saturday said in a tweet that he believes the nuclear deal with North Korea "will happen," adding that Kim fully realizes the great economic potential of North Korea, & will do nothing to interfere or end it.
