Can the White House ignore subpoenas by another, equal branch of government with the power to issue subpoenas?

Can the President prevent the Special Counsel from testifying before Congress?

We already know:

That one political party can refuse to hold a confirmation hearing on a legally appointed Supreme Court Justice nominee.

That a President can fire the head of the FBI in charge of investigating a hostile foreign power's encroachment into our democracy.

The President's family and key campaign team members can hold a secret meeting with a hostile foreign power for the purpose of getting illegal dirt on the candidate's opponent.

That the President can lie about the purpose of such a meeting.

That the President can lie to the public almost every time he speaks or tweets.

That the President can get a tax cut bill passed that benefits him and his organization personally to the tune of $30 Million a year.

And on and on and on.

We are on the way to becoming a dictatorship. I really believe that. Will it be a fait accompli soon? Or will the system work, as they say? So far, the system is not working.

We're about to find out.
