Robert Mueller's words will carry more weight than William Barr's...

If he contradicts Barr's conclusions, it will be a very big story. That is why Donald Trump does not want him to testify. Because Mueller's words will be more important than those of Trump and/or Barr.

No doubt, Robert Mueller understands the gravity and historical significance of his testimony to the Congress. There is a lot of weight upon his shoulders but we will find out if he is willing to carry it. He could go down in history as a profile in courage or he could become just a footnote.

But, if the investigation cleared Donald Trump of collusion and obstruction, then the Mueller team would have said so. They did not. There was a load of evidence showing collusion and obstruction of justice. Bill Barr is not Moses. His conclusion was not written on a stone tablet. If it was indeed true, then Donald Trump would welcome the testimony of Robert Mueller. He would not try to prevent it.

After all, it was Robert Mueller that did the investigation. He knows more about his own investigation than Trump or Barr. The American people are likely to accept his version of events. The PR campaign of Trump will be greatly damaged if Robert Mueller contradicts AG William Barr.

Nothing scares Donald Trump more than the truth.

his investigators along for the hearing. They can verify his statements. They actually worked on the investigations and know the truth. I remember someone with knowledge at the early part of this fiasco saying "He (meaning tRump) is going to prison" Right away they found corruption and wrongdoing. tRump is exposing himself when he tries to shut out anyone who is truthful and honest. Honest people WANT the truth to be exposed.

"...nothing will stand between us and darkness..."
It's up to us. But then, that's always been the case.

I disagree with you only in this respect, I think the greater danger to our republic has alway been from within. Looking back, roughly half the body politic (quite knowingly I might add) selected a man utterly devoid of decency, integrity, honor or morals (let alone qualifications for the office) to be the leader of a country that they profess to cherish and love. Let that sink in for a moment. This had nothing to do with some "foreign agent" manipulating or misleading. If you voted for this man (and many, many did) you got EXACTLY what you bargained for. Remember the rallies? This ugliness came straight from us, friend. This is what many Americans wished/wish for their country. We don't have to look outside ourselves ...

In my opinion, it could happen anywhere with a demagogue trained in media manipulation and propaganda and well-versed in PR and branding. Someone once said, there is a fool born every minute.

You could be right that there is greater damage under the surface, much like the times before the Great Civil War. But there were polls early in the Trump campaign, and even before with the Tea Party, they were primarily middle to middle upper class people. They were persuaded by emotions and demagogic language.

The oath to

"Support and Defend the CONSTITUTION against all enemies Foreign and Domestic".

IMO at this time in our history the foreign and domestic enemy is embodied in the same treasonous con man in the white house.

My money is on Mueller.

As long as Mueller tells us the truth, we will deal with the rest.

"if he were not the sitting President"

Which to me is a disgrace, it allows a crook, just like what we have in the WH today to be a legal crook. I have no idea why there is so much reverence to the presidency, its just a person who happens to hold a high executive position in government, nothing else.

The laws and opinions are wrong, if anything, a president should be more accountable than anyone else for his actions, if he is a crook the repercussions, because of his post, are more lethal to the country than if anyone else were doing it, he should be expected to act with excellence and punished when he/she is not.

This insane reverence to the presidency must change, it open the doors to extreme corruption.

I can understand that there would be problems in permitting "one man or woman" the power to over-ride an election.

But the Special Counsel should be able to indict with the oversight of Congress, in my opinion.

I've been saying from the beginning that this statement is a crock. The puppet of a foreign power, corrupt in every way imaginable (and some unimaginable), has soiled the office so badly it will have to be disinfected. No respect is due. He is a citizen who cheated his way to the top. He is not worthy of the title of president.
