Well, it has been yet another busy time for deep thinking down here at the diner, so of course that is what we have all been doing, as you could have expected
Everyone here is very happy that that fake and completely unfair investigation has found that Our Great President is totally innocent of colliding with Russia, and now the President has told us even the Russians say so, which is good news for just about everyone who worried about going to jail!
So now Our President can finally concentrate on his being-president job, which looks like it could take hours of his time every week, what with his trying to keep horsey-racing fair and awarding medals to his business partners and making sure that everybody gets angry if our good nazis can't say whatever they want whenever they want
Here at the diner, we think it's lots of fun whenever Our President can make the stock market bobble up and down like the head of the plastic dashboard jesus, just by threatening to impose new tariffs or to go to war in Venezutina
But (we are asking) does he deserve two extra years as President for free, now that the unfair bogus investigation found he did nothing wrong? On the one hand, you could think of all that time he had to spend away from Twittering during that. And on the other hand, there is all that time he could have been playing golf or promoting one of his businesses, and instead he was distracted by the thought of being dragged out of The White House into the streets by angry mobs. And then, on the third hand, well, you get the picture. So some say yes and some say maybe and then some just look at you like you are crazy. And who can say who is right?

(6,549 posts)I have a gun-humping nephew that post unbelievable stuff all the time. Any thinking person would have second thoughts. Guess I shouldn't be surprised as he is the son of my trump cult sister.

(9,426 posts)spent golfing, flying to Florida, holding his cheering crowds at rallies while he spouts nonsense. I think HE owes US that time when we could have had a REAL president. Falwell, the religious (?) guy who loans young pool boys millions of $$$ to start businesses??? Time to investigate these millionaire "preachers" who support a known adulterer, liar and criminal. Graham is another one who needs to be investigated.

(26,259 posts)and I am violating that oath every time I post something against trump*.
I informed her that I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC, and obey the President of the United States. I'm pretty sure that "obey" part applied to the POTUS in office, at the time. I've been out of the Navy for quite a while, but apparently she thinks her misunderstanding of that oath should follow me to the grave.
I should have reminded her that she took an oath, before her God and her family, to love, honor and cherish, until death did them part, the man who is now her ex-husband.

(6,181 posts)Your oath, like mine was to:
"Support and Defend the CONSTITUTION against ALL enemies FOREIGN and DOMESTIC"
If we all would remember and honor that oath we wouldn't have the grifter in the white house for long.
The grifter in the white house gives deference to the Russians over all of our intelligence warnings.
A foreign and domestic enemy all embodied in the same grifter.
NOTHING in the oath is more important than the DEFENSE of the CONSTITUTION.

(16,072 posts)And I know that people always bring up this part, which follows:"...and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me,"!
But they conveniently forget the last part:"...according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice."!
