20. I discovered him decades ago

When Nixon was in office, I was in my teens. I was really moved when he passed. I used to subscribe to WaPo Weekly when I was in college partly because he was published there.

At a time when Nixon had his "Enemies List" and saw to it that they suffered . . .

I have never gone to DC as a tourist, maybe I should do that someday. It's a long journey from where I live, will require some planning. I would like to see several of the museums and archives and monuments. I wouldn't mind a week, maybe, to see a bunch of them. I know some have lines to get in.

I feel almost the same way I did in 74(?) just as the tapes were exposed. I think we're right about there.

28. I live in the west coast but have been to DC numerous times

The Smithsonian museums, going to Mt. Vernon on a boat down the Potomac, driving to colonial Williamsburg. That area has so much to explore and learn.

Walking the Washington mall is inspiring. Every American should visit DC. My first time was when I was 14 and I got into the Whitehouse for a tour. Every time I go back I realize there’s so much to see and history to learn.

30. I grew up in

New England and I remember my parents stopping through when we were driving to Key West for the Cuban missile crisis and I made deliveries there a time or two... oh and there was time I was protesting with a lot of others in front of the WH and got tear gassed. And I never went there otherwise when I was old enough to go places on my own. I guess we got as far as Boston on our jaunts when I was a teen except when we went to join the marches. NYC wasn't of interest since it was too far for a short trip and we had just about everything NYC has in Boston so we went there instead. DC was for political business.

31. I've never been to New England but someday hope to visit that part of the country

In college one semester I had a roommate who was from New Hampshire. Her accent was so different from my California one, nice young woman.

It's beautiful, or it was. There is so much old architecture and history all over, and the forests and shorefront, it's very different from the rest of the country. The accent is very specific to small areas. If you get familiar with them nuances, you can pick out which area of which state someone's accent is specific to, or it used to be like that. A person with a heavy southern NH accent would sound quite different to someone from coastal Maine or downtown Boston. It still holds a lot of characteristics of European colonial establishment, hard t describe. Best to go in your favorite warm weather months.
