Cohen's right. He's going to prison for three years for crimes that benefited Trump.

ormer Trump “fixer” Michael Cohen is due to report to prison on Monday — and CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin said that he’s understandably furious that he’s being sent to jail while the man who allegedly ordered him to commit crimes still gets to be president.

In dissecting the crimes that Cohen pleaded guilty to, Toobin pointed out that many of them were done for Trump’s benefit — and yet Cohen is the only one who has paid a legal price so far.

“The remarkable thing about Michael Cohen is, if you look at his crimes — and they are real crimes — all of them, with one exception, were for the benefit of Donald Trump,” he said. “He didn’t get anything out of the illegal campaign contributions, out of his false testimony to Congress, his bank fraud to get money to pay off Stormy Daniels. His tax fraud is a separate issue.”

Taken all together, Toobin said, Cohen would be right to feel that he’s going to jail for another man’s misdeeds.

“The idea that Michael Cohen is going to prison for three years when Donald Trump is president of the United States, no one else has been prosecuted for that stuff, you can see why he’s a pissed-off dude,” he said.

He can look back and witness his own behavior. I assumed that, by association with Trump, he assumed he was representing and invincible overlord, free from scrutiny or prosecution.

Donny Deutsch has been working overtime on his own show and Morning Joe to downplay the "Club Fed" thing, and yes...Club Fed or not, he's behind bars for 3 years.

Because he committed crimes, and was found guilty.

And it really doesn't matter if he committed those crimes to enrich himself or to elevate Trump.

He was found guilty of crimes and was sentenced. That's the story.
